Profile: Jayne Swank (B.A., 2008)

Music major Jayne Swank has been named a Lilly Fellow for the 2008-09 academic year. As a Fellow, she will be living in the Duke Pathways house, and will use her stipend to work as an apprentice to Dr. Ben Hutchens, Director of Music at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Durham.  Jayne graduated from Duke in 2008 with a B.A. in Music and minors in History and Religion. While at Duke, she took lessons in piano, pipe organ, and voice, and gave a senior piano recital.  She was also a member of the Chapel Choir and Westminster Presbyterian Fellowship.  In her last four years, service trips, music, and study have taken her to Costa Rica, Honduras, Spain, Berlin, and Ireland.
